This problem is related to the way Paradox Files lock on a network. Here is the solution.
1.) Power down all networked workstations.
2.) Reboot one workstation and log back onto the network with the administrator or supervisor password (see your network administrator).
3.) From your Windows 95/98 task bar click Start | Find | Files or Folders. This will open the Find Dialog Box
4.) In the
box called "Named" type "pdox" without the quotes.
5.) In the box call "Look In" click the down arrow on the right side of the box and select the F drive (or whatever network drive the CIC Data is installed on it may be G: or H:) What ever you do DO NOT Select the C: drive. If you do and the files on your C drive are deleted Windows 95 may have to be reinstalled in order for your computer to work properly.
6.) Click the FindNow Button
7.) A number of files will appear in the results section on the bottom of the find dialog box, highlight all of the files and delete them. REMEMBER, none of these files should be from your C drive.
8.) Log off as the Administrator and Log back in on the computer under your normal user name.
9.) Restart CIC
Note: You may not
have to log on as the administrator if your normal
network rights allow you to delete fields from any
directories on the drive on the server where CIC's
data is stored.
